Level Design
Raccoon Revenge was the first published game I got to design levels for. The game had some seasonal levels before I joined, but the team was looking for a level designer to create proper levels that would slowly teach players the game's various features. This was when I was brought on for the project. I designed several levels that taught players via a silent tutorial of the game's systems, features, and mechanics.
In-House Level Editor
Speaking of level design, I had to work with an In-House Level Editor designed specifically for Raccoon Revenge. This was because Raccoon Revenge is a mobile game, and we wanted to save resources in the app instead of having large scene files. Our level editor allowed us to store our levels as pixelated images that would be read and drawn in the game. This meant I had to quickly adapt to new tools and work within the limitations of our game.
Quality Assurance
Outside of working in the engine, I also provided QA for Raccoon Revenge. This was my first time working with Google’s Internal Testing service on the Playstore. This allowed everyone working on the game to catch bugs and provide feedback before we released our update. Each team member shared the responsibility of playtesting the game before release, as part of the policy before shipping was to ensure that the product worked as intended.
